This New Westminster couples session took place on a random rooftop at golden hour. It was one of my absolute favourite sessions ever. The light was amazing, Juno and Kat were adorable and hilarious to work with, and we all just had a great time hanging out.
I have photographed these two before, but this was the first time they really let down their guard in front of me. I was able to capture the parts of their relationship that nobody really sees. They are two amazing, kind hearted people that the world needs more of. I had a blast with them!
The rooftop felt very private and there weren’t many cars or people around. We had views of the Fraser River beside us and it truly felt like it was just for us for the hour. Afterwards, we hopped over to Origins Chocolate Bar at River Market and grabbed the best hot chocolate ever.
One of my favourite things about shooting couples is being able to give them the safe space to be themselves in front of me. My absolute main goal is having you look at your images and being able to think immediately “wow, that is so us.” I want you to feel a strong connection and only happy feelings when you look at images of yourself and your relationship. If I can do that, I’ve done my job.
At the end of the session, Kat brought some merchandise that was designed by my amazing sister, Amelia Earhart (yes that really is her name.) She’s a designer, animator and multi-talented human. View more of her work here.
I cannot wait to shoot another New Westminster couples session in the future! If these images are along the lines of what you’re looking for, please feel free to drop me a message and say hi here.
